Sources tipped an undeniable proof that the Microsoft Lumia 735 is coming out on Thursday, June 11. The device is said to have "CDMA plus 4G LTE bands for Verizon's network" and would probably run Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2. As for the Update 2, it is currently being rolled out for Lumia 830, Lumia 640, and Lumia 640 XL.
The source released an image coming from Verizon's computers for employee, listing the Lumia 735 under the device coming soon this month. It reflected, "6/11 - Microsoft Lumia 735."
The Windows Phone device will be having a 4.7-inch 720p OLED display, 1280 x 720 resolution, 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, microSD card, 6.7 MP rear camera with ZEISS optics and f/1.9 aperture, full HD 5 MP front camera with f/2.4 aperture, and a LED flash.
The release of the Microsoft Lumia 735 is just in time as the company just rolled out its Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 or GDR2. The said update will also arrive not only in Lumia 640 and 640 XL, but also in other budget models such as Lumia 830.
The latest Lumia Denim update bears OS version 8.10.15148.160 and firmware version 02177.00000.15184.36xxx. This is currently seeding in "select markets" and is expected to bring the following OS features:
- Reorganized settings screen with categories and search
- MKV support for video playback
- Bluetooth HID support for external keyboards
- App permission toggles
- Pin Individual Settings to the Start screen
- Reset Protection feature
It should be noted that the availability of the update depends on the phone model, region, and network service provider or carrier. Software updates are also downloadable based on operator approvals.
Windows Phone checks for updates automatically on weekly basis through a Wi-Fi connection. The following are the steps to check updates for Microsoft Lumia 735:
1. Go to Settings > Phone update and tap Check for updates.
2. Tap notification message, and follow instructions shown on the Lumia phone. Users can install the update immediately or postpone it to a more convenient time.
