The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist update: Will we also see Amityville haunting scenes?

By

Real-life couple and investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren will investigate on a poltergeist's intrusion of a family home in Enfield, London in The Conjuring 2. However, there could also be a brief scene of the Amityville haunting which also happened in real life.

HAUNTING IN AMITYVILLE

In the ending of the prequel to The Conjuring 2 with a 1971 setting, Ed and Lorraine, played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, is seen ready to take on another assignment based on a request by the Vatican. This will take place in Long Island. Latin Post says the case referred to is the Amityville Haunting which the couple worked on until 1976. Although the sequel is titled The Enfield Poltergeist which refers to the possession of two sisters in 1977 yet, it quoted a theory from Movie Pilot as saying that the movie did Amityville and it will still be seen in the new movie through flashbacks.

The Warrens were known for the Amityville haunting case which became a movie in the late '70s and a fiction book. As to why the Amityville story was not made into a separate sequel, that we do not have information about.

THE POLTERGEIST IN ENFIELD

Still, The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist will focus on what took place in Enfield, London. The Warrens will go to the said northern part of London to look into the wicked spirits that are destroying the lives of a family. The List describes this happening as the most documented poltergeist case in the United Kingdom in the 1970s based on Guy Playfair's book This House is Haunted that was recently adapted into a TV series also entitled The Enfield Poltergeist. Empire adds that possessed furniture will also be expected in The Conjuring 2.

The demonic characters and effects plus the fact that the story happened in real life will make The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist all the more frightening.
