Game of Thrones Season 5 is now only down for two episodes. And this Sunday, we're gonna witness Game of Thrones Season 5 penultimate episode. Yet, each story arc is far from its climax and everyone's excited on what will happen next.
International Business Times had an interview with Westeros.org runner Elio M. Garcia, Jr and learn a few predictions for the incoming episodes. Garcia shares his thoughts on what could happen in Game of Thrones in line with what he knows of A Song of Ice and Fire series
People are anticipating whether Yara and Balon Greyjoy and Night's King will show up in the last two episodes of the show since IMdB listed them as one of the characters of Game of Thrones Season 5. Although, Night's King already showed up in episode 8. How about the Greyjoys?
"I admit the ironborn story is murky to me. They're changing the order of things a fair bit from the novels, and it's not clear what it all means," Garcia said to International Business Times.
"The ironborn haven't been of any note in the North since Ramsay slaughtered them last season, so Balon's death would seem to have no real importance to the North. It may have rather more importance for the rest of the realm, however."
It's still unclear if the Greyjoys show up in "Game of Thrones" Season 5, but the casting rumors for Season 6 point to Euron Greyjoy making his debut. If that's the case, the show could feature a cameo from Yara and Balon's death to set up an Iron Isles storyline for next season.
Another arc that is deviating from ASoIAF is Ned Stark's bastard's story: Jon Snow. Although, Garcia thinks that Jon will still have the same fate as A Dance with Dragons. For GoT fans who have read ASoIAF series, this is the most anticipated moment since Jon is one of the fans' favorite character. For those who haven't, well spoiler alert, your favorite good looking curly haired character might be dead in George R. R. Martin's next book. We might yet confirm since Martin hasn't published the book yet. Well, the series creator of Game of Thrones could use this as a cliffhanger for the ultimate episode of Game of Thrones Season 5.
Another fan favorite is the Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen. Garcia thinks that Daenery's arc might follow the books. This means that there is a possiblity that Daenerys will fly off with Drogo to Westeros, one of her dragons, and leave Tyrion Lannister in Meereen.
Obviously, Cersei Lannister's walk of will happen. If it's in Game of Thrones Season 5 penultimate episode or the ultimate one, we will see. But for sure, it's going to happen. It is already been filmed.
Arya Stark, on the other hand, will most probably complete her first mission in the Faceless Men.
Garcia was also asked about his take on what will happen to Stannis Baratheon and Sansa Stark. Garcia thinks will be a lot of surprises here because Sansa's story has been deviated from the books. Garcia also reminded all of us about Brienne of Tarth's vengeance for her beloved Renly Baratheon.
"I suspect Stannis will take a rather unexpected turn when Brienne of Tarth confronts him -- remember her vow to avenge Renly and kill Stannis," Garcia said.
About Sansa, Garcia thinks that there will be no Queen of the North story arc but instead, Sansa might flee from Ramsay (who is the most hated character in the series next to Joffrey) and be on the run by the end of the season
"I think the details that are coming together suggest she may flee Winterfell with Reek/Theon and try and get to the Wall in the hopes that Jon will protect her," Garcia said.
