Elementary season 4 premieres by fall; Sherlock Holmes to be reunited with his father

Elementary is about to comeback with season four and it looks a like a father and son reunion is about to happen. The show's executive producer Rob Doherty had revealed some facts regarding the upcoming season of the show.

Recently it has been reported that the Sleepy Hollow's John Noble will be portraying the role of Sherlock's father. Sherlock's father will be arriving in New York, as he will be once again dealing with his son's addiction problems.

On the previous season's finale, Sherlock was seen slipping back into drug addiction after being forced to team up with his previous drug dealer Oscar in order to save his friend Alfredo. Although Alfredo was saved with the help of Sherlock's team but the event made lead to Sherlock going back to his old ways- drug addiction and his father going to New York to save his son.

It was during this episode wherein Sherlock finally broke down and started to get into drugs again. It was later revealed that these happenings are intended in order to pave way for the coming of Sherlock's father who despite being mentioned for a couple of times in the season was never actually seen.

Recently the show's executive producer Rob Doherty expressed his willingness to let the Sherlock's father to finally appear on the show stating that "...I think it's time. I would very much like to meet Dad and explore this very complicated dynamic that we've been alluding to over the last two seasons. There's a lot to get out of a longer-term story about Sherlock and his father and everything between them."

According to recent reports Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) whom Sherlock fondly calls his "Sober partner" won't be around anymore on the fourth season of the show to help him from his addiction which is probably the reason why Sherlock's father will be entering the picture.

Elementary is expected to return to the small screen this fall on CBS.
