After years of waiting and fighting evil enemies, finally the Avengers will soon come face to face with their biggest opponent yet in Avengers: Infinity War I and II. Avengers unite with other heroes to face Thanos and save the universe from being wiped out.
Thanos will now take things into his own hands (after he failed in using other villains to do the job for him), as he decides to gather all 6 of the Infinity Stones for him to acquire the greatest and immeasurable power in the universe. With Thanos being Thanos, its no shocking news that the universe will be in a great danger if he ever gets hold of all the 6 stones.
The 6 Infinity Stones are now scattered in different parts of the universe.
- The 'Tesseract / Space Stone' is in Asgard as Thor took it there, along with his brother, Loki in the movie The Avengers.
- The 'Mind Stone / Loki's Scepter' is in Vision's forehead. Its power is to give the owner to control others' minds.
- The 'Aether / Reality Stone' is currently unknown. It was last given to The Collector to be kept, but his house was later wrecked in Guardians of the Galaxy, thus declared: location unknown.
- The 'Orb / Power Stone' was last seen in the hands of the intergalactic police, Nova Corps, in Xandar.
- Although much has been revealed about the 4 stones, the other 2 has not made their big screen debut yet. They are called the 'Soul' and 'Time' stones.
But even though there are still 2 stones to be introduced, there's no need to fret as there are still other Marvel movies coming up, and so there is still plenty of time for them to be known before the Avengers: Infinity War is released.
But even with the heroes' efforts to stop Thanos' evil plans to take all the stones, he reportedly won't be stopped. As seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron, he already had the gauntlet with him, and so he just needs to gather all six stones to accomplish his personal mission. With that, in Avengers: Infinity War II, the Avengers will call out as much heroes and allies as they can, including Black Panther and Loki the Trickster and work together to fight the now dangerously powerful Thanos.
Avengers: Infinity War will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, and written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Avengers: Infinity War I is slated for release in May 2018, while Avengers: Infinity War II will be released in 2019.
