Doctor Strange is soon to be appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a movie about the mystical hero is set to be released next year. Tinda Swinton, Baron Mordo, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Morgan Freeman, rumored to be part of the film.
There are no confirmed reports of the official list of actors to play in the movie yet, but it has long been announced that 'The Imitation Game' actor Benedict Cumberbatch will play the titular role in the film. To prepare for the film, he was said to have been hitting the gym to beef up for the role. Since Cumberbatch has a naturally lean body, the beefing up process might be quite an effort for him but he seems to be prepared for it as he has reportedly been "wolfing double the daily amount of calories and spending hours with a personal trainer".
Meanwhile, talks about Tinda Swinton being in a negotiation with Marvel to play the Ancient One has been going on for quite some time now. Since Ancient One, who serves as Doctor Strange's mentor was a male in the comics, Marvel reportedly thought of male actors for the role, but apparently, they later changed their minds and decided to make the character a female in the movie instead.
Although Swinton has long been rumored to be playing the role, many speculate that Morgan Freeman might actually play as the Ancient One in the film. This is due to the fact that Freeman will make an appearance in another Marvel film, the 'Captain America: CIvil War', and many are thinking that he will also play a supporting role in Doctor Strange. Other actors who were rumored to be part of the cast are Baron Mordo, who is said to be playing the villain in the upcoming film, and 12 Years a Slave actor, Chiwetel Ejiofor
The movie will be about an arrogant Doctor Stephen Strange who later loses the function of his hands in an accident. He meets the Ancient One in desperation to heal himself, and later becomes a hero who will save the earth from mystical villains.
Nothing has not been confirmed yet as to the villain Doctor Strange will fight against in the movie, although reports say that he might come face to face with the personification of death after Scott Derrickson, the director of the film, tweeted a picture of the comic book entitled 'Dr. Strange Meets... Death!'.
In the story, Death, who is a personification of the word, is the woman beloved by Thanos. He later goes on a mission to complete the Infinity gems to prove his love for her.
Also, speaking of Infinity gems, the Soul and Time gems, which has not been introduced in the MCU yet will reportedly appear in the next Marvel movies to come, and reports say that one of the gems will appear in the movie Doctor Strange.
Although there are many reports about the film, Marvel has kept mum about its official details. Doctor Strange will reportedly start filming this fall and soon hit theaters in November 2016.
