SM Entertainment youngest boy band EXO defeats rival company YG's frontrunner group BIGBANG on what is said to be "The Most Intense Battle of 2015" through album releases by the two respective groups.
Right after EXO's release of its latest repackaged album "Love Me Right" on the midnight of June third, the songs rose to number one of various real-time digital music charts such as Melon, Genie, and Naver Music, pushing off BIGBANG's "Bang Bang Bang" and "We Like 2 Party" to the side which had been camping on the first and second spots since the release of their single "A" on the first of June from their project "MADE" series that will end in September.
This is not the first time that the currently most popular K-Pop act EXO outsold BIGBANG as its second full-length album "EXODUS" that was released on March 30 took the crown from the latter for being the best-selling Korean male act in the United States.
Few days after "EXODUS" was released, it has sold 6,000 copies in the continent, beating the record of BIGBANG's "Alive" which has averaged into 5,000 album sales.
History repeats itself in the music world as well because just this June 10th in the episode of MBC's Show Champion, EXO took home their first trophy as the first place for their title song "Love Me Right."
The said group which has antecedently been nominated against BIGBANG, their senior group SHINee, solo singer IU, and girl group KARA, was not present at the show neither had they performed this week, though their absence had not stopped EXO's fanbase EXO-L to express their joy by trending their first win for the repacked album on various social media especially on Twitter where it ranked first place worldwide for quite a while.
EXO's title track "Love Me Right" is a funky bright dance track aimed to be the summer jam of the year. The repackaged album contains the previous 10 songs from their second full-length album "EXODUS" as well as four new songs that consist of the promotional single "Love Me Right," "Tender Love," "First Love," and "Promise (EXO 2014)" which was written by Chinese member Lay talking about the group's experiences last year.
EXO and BIGBANG are expected to continue battling it out head-to-head in the rest of their promotional life span this month.
