It looks like the heated battle between EXO and BIGBANG is just beginning as Korean music shows become overwhelmed with unending concerns from the fans of both parties when their promotion hits its second week.
Just recently, Mnet had a taste of the cooking rage from EXO's fanbase EXO-Ls when the company deleted its official video of the promotional single "Love Me Right" from the group's repackaged album and uploaded a new one.
The fans took to twitter their anger and mass tweeted "F*ck Mnet" as a sign of their annoyance to the lost 700,000 views that fans repeatedly streamed in hopes to help EXO in its wins during Mnet's weekly music show M! Countdown.
The replace video only had 150,000 hits which signaled that the fandom has to work hard again and tirelessly watch it to grow. Some fans felt that the removal of the video was done on purpose causing them to trend the said vulgar word.
Just a few days after, the company has once again been subjected to controversy with EXO-Ls concerning an online poll at M! Countdown that included EXO and BIGBANG as contenders.
EXO fans argued that their bias group was leading right before the closing time but noticed that even after 9AM, the percentage of the votes were changing, mainly with BIGBANG's rising and EXO's share lowering.
A representative from Mnet then confirmed that there was indeed a faulty online voting system this week and that "This is the first time such an error has occurred regarding the closing of the votes, so we will be more cautious in the future."
BIGBANG's fanbase VIPs also sent complaints to another weekly music show SBS Inkigayo for an alleged discrimination against BIGBANG. The voting for the group's newest single "Bang Bang Bang" has been delayed for 41 hours.
The fans requested a formal apology like it did with EXO in its past encounter with the group where the company even allowed the EXO-Ls to vote via e-mail. Aside from this, VIPs asked for damage control to be done.
A representative from Inkigayo explained that the confusion was due to BIGBANG's new song in conflict with their last single "Bae Bae." The representative also stressed that they were following "according to proper procedure" and that "This did not go against our (SBS) normal policy."
Fans, however, were still in disbelief and called the difference in treatment "Negligence towards Big Bang, and its unfairness."
The face-off between the two largest groups in K-Pop EXO and BIGBANG is a very important point for both EXO-Ls and VIPs and if music shows demonstrate just a slight inconsistency, loyal passionate fans are sure not going to back down very easily.
