Microsoft Launches Xbox One 1TB Console and Xbox One Wireless Controller Bundle and Will Hit the Stores June 16

Microsoft recently announced its new Xbox One 1TB console, roughly a week before the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015 launches.

The Xbox One 1TB console sports a new matte finish, and still has the external 3.0 storage option to complement the increased hard drive space.

"Since Xbox One launched, one of the most frequent requests from fans is to add more storage to their consoles... We're extremely grateful to our fans for your continued feedback and the Xbox team is continually working hard to expand and improve the experience. 2015 is going to be a great year for gamers," the official Microsoft statement said.

This is not the first time Microsoft offered the 1TB option to gamers. Sometime between October and November last year, the company came out with the Xbox One Limited Edition Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Bundle that had the same amount of hard drive storage.

The Xbox One 1TB console will also include the latest Xbox One Wireless controller that comes with a 3.5mm stereo headset jack, improved audio quality, and increased volume limit. The controller has an improved physical design, and can receive wireless firmware updates.

The Xbox One Wireless Controller also could be used with a US$25 wireless adapter for Windows. It can be bought in a bundle with the controller for $80.

Users can also buy the Xbox One Wireless Controller as a standalone accessory, with standard black and silver-and-black camouflage design.

In some regions, the Xbox One 1TB package will include "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" for a limited time.

With the arrival of the Xbox One 1TB, the original Xbox One 500GB's price was reduced.

"We're also pleased to announce that starting today, the $349 USD price on all standard Xbox One 500GB consoles will be permanent in the United States," the statement added. United Kingdom, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea will have the permanent price reduction as well.

This could be Microsoft's response to the recent rumors that its main competitor, Sony, will come out with a 1TB version of their own Playstation 4 gaming console.

The Xbox One 1TB Console with the Xbox One Wireless Controller could be purchased for $399 and will be available on June 16 in the US. Other regions will see the unit before the end of the month.
