Activision's takes action in a whole new level as it unleashes the Beast Mode in Call of Duty 3: Black Ops. Seattle Seahawks running back, Marshawn Lynch, debuts as the first athlete to perform in the all-time favourite first person shooting game, Call of Duty 3: Black Ops.

"For Marshawn's role, we needed an imposing figure," said Mark Lamia, Treyarch Studio Head after learning that the running back has been a huge fan of the Call of Duty franchise since college. And they thought that Lynch's persona is fitted into the role. "The whole game is Beast Mode", according to Lynch as he is to play a villain, or at least, a mercenary character in the story. He will be playing as a 'bad guy' in the game, just as he is while playing defence in the NFL.

Set in the year 2065, joining an elite class of mercenaries is the 5'11, 215-pound running back, Seahawk's Marshawn Lynch, ready to unleash the Beast Mode. To turn these into reality, Lynch had to perform a cut scene in a Singapore bar and is brought to the Activision Motion Capture Studio in Los Angeles to perform his actions.

First, he was seated inside a cocoon-shaped light stage where 16 cameras and 6,280 LEDs capture a 360-degree image of his texture and features. Then he is subjected into a cyberware scanner where a mechanical arm rotated around him and captured his skull and face muscles. Next, is to put him to reference photography and was made to stand atop a circular platform where the shirtless running back is spun around as photographers shoot from every conceivable angle. Lastly, he underwent scene prep and rehearsal in a motion capture suit in the same studio which brought Gollum from LOTR to life. To note, Lynch requested the programmers that he wanted three ingredients present: the dreads, his gold teeth, and his signature walk.

According to the official Activision blog, the game was initially designed for PC, PS4 and Xbox One consoles only, as to harness the full potential of the said consoles. However, the developers have realized that other fans may not be able to enjoy the newest game of the franchise, so they have worked with developers Beenoy and Mercenary Technology to make the game playable in Xbox 360 and PS3 as well, with the campaign, multiplayer, and zombies game modes.
