Last May 30, 2015, Microsoft finally released the remastered Halo 3: ODST for the Xbox One. Players can now download the game and enjoy Halo 3: ODST in HD thanks to the collaboration of 343 Industries and Ruffian Games to make the entire Halo: The Master Chief Collection a huge hit.
A post was first seen on the Xbox website stating that the remastered Halo 3: ODST would be released May 29, 2015 was taken down and 343 Industries clarified that the date was only a "placeholder" and they did not announce when the game would be released. Halo fans were in for a surprise as the next day, May 30, 2015, the remastered Halo 3: ODST for Halo: The Master Chief Collection was now available for download on Xbox.com.
Bonnie Ross of 343 Industries previously said the developer is giving the game to players for free to thank them for sticking with Halo: The Master Chief Collection even with its troubled launch. Now players who bought and played Halo: The Master Chief Collection from its release date last November 11, 2014 to December 19, 2015 received messages on Xbox Live saying that the remastered Halo 3: ODST was now available for download and they were also given a redeem code. For those who were not able to purchase Halo: The Master Chief Collection and receive a free copy of Halo 3: ODST, the DLC can be purchased at the Xbox website. The price of the game is definitely worth it because of new improvements added to Halo 3: ODST.
Halo fans can now experience being an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper like never before because the game now runs in 1920x1080 resolution at 60 frames per second. The multiplayer map "Remnant" was also added along with the game. It is a remake of the multiplayer map from the Halo 2: Anniversary. This map is free for everyone who owns a copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
Halo: 3 ODST is an improved version of the Xbox 360 game for the Xbox One. It is now available for purchase in Xbox.com.
