Going through its third "iteration" with up-to-date improvements since the original Motorola X, Motorola, now acquired by Lenovo, is rumored to be in development of the next Motorola flagship, Motorola X 3rd-gen 2015 unit.
The past few days have been in abuzz with the rumors pertaining to the "leaked images" of what appeared to be the 3rd-generation Motorola X smartphone online. Although the image displayed has been nothing but the empty chassis of the supposed unit, the watermarked label is strongly hinting of another Motorola unit going through production - allegedly the Motorola X 3rd-gen 2015 edition. Most notable of this image is an opening of what would be the place to hold a fingerprint scanner, a feature not seen on any of the previous Motorola X units.
However, barely a day after its "supposed" leak, a more updated version of another set of photos surfaced displaying an altogether new design which scraps the slot for the fingerprint scanner. Apparently, the initial leaked images was of an old design for same the unit which had to be scrapped for a new design as seen on the more updated photos.
A new report as mentioned in VR-Zone now confirms of two variants joining the Motorola X 3rd-gen designs - one having a 5.7-inch display and another with a smaller 5.2-inch display but as far as design goes, both looked just the same according to reports. To easily distinguish one from the other, there are some allegations that call to the 5.7-inch variation as the Moto X Plus, while the other being simply as Moto X. Whether there is confirmation on any of these rumors is yet to be known.
Unlike earlier rumors stating of the Motorola X 3rd-gen 2015's supposed exclusivity to Verizon Wireless, it has been clarified that it would not be the case because of exclusivity but rather simply of sheer interest with the device for its sales.
