Samsung Galaxy J5 One of Three Mid-Range Units to Join Samsung’s Mid-End Lineups

By

Samsung's recently rumored upcoming smartphone unit code named "J5" may not be what high-end goers may be waiting for from Samsung's line-up of flagship units, but it is a unit that medium-end goers may be worth considering because of its brand, specifications, and price.

Coming into the line of the Galaxy "J" series, Samsung has started with the Samsung Galaxy J1, the Samsung Galaxy J5 is another flagship unit which will be released vis-a-vis the Samsung Galaxy J7 as entries to the mid-range smartphone units. There is also the rumors about the Samsung Galaxy J3 unit but such existence is yet to be verified.

Although there has not been an official statement for the Galaxy J5 as coming from Samsung, there are information already available on the internet that give ideas as to its design and hardware specifications. As early as May, GSMArena has provided additional information as to the specifications of the Samsung J5 unit, similar to Samsung J7, featuring an octa-core processor, 16 Gb of storage (expandable), 1.5 Gb RAM, 8 megapixel rear camera, 5 megapixel front camera, 4G LTE support, and runs pre-installed with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.

However, a later report purportedly claims that the Samsung Galaxy J5 unit will be released with the following features instead such as 5-inch display, quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor running at 1.2 GHz (as opposed to the octa-core presumption), 1.5 Gb RAM, 13 megapixels rear camera (not just 8 megapixels as earlier rumored), 5 megapixel front camera, 2,600 mAh battery capacity, and an 8 Gb expandable storage (not 16 Gb).

The main difference between the Samsung Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 units is the screen size and thickness. The Samsung Galaxy J5 will feature a 5-inch display and measuring 8.5 mm thickness while the Galaxy J7, on the other hand, will feature a 5.5-inch display with a thickness measure of only 7.9 mm.
