Sony Xperia Z4v joins Z4 and Z3+ features Technically Superior Specs: Quad HD display, Remote Play, headphone detection, waterproof

Sony Xperia Z4v joined Xperia Z4 and Z3+, Sony's two flagship handsets that are largely the same, and are available in Japan and Europe, respectively. Sony's latest flagship phone, which will be available exclusively on Verizon Wireless, features the same 5.2-inch Quad HD display with 2,560 x 1,440 pixels that Samsung Galaxy S6 and LG G4 sport.

It also supports video game through its Remote Play feature. The feature allows PlayStation 4 owners to stream games from the console to the handset via home network. This means that gamers can continue playing even without the television, either with a phone-specific control accessory or a PlayStation 4 controller. Xbox One was also reported to offer the same feature with Windows 10.

The Xperia Z4v can also detect which headphone a person is using and enhance sound quality accordingly. This is one cool trick, indeed, but the feature that stands out the most is its water resistant capacity. Sony has finally made it right by ditching the rubberized USB port cap. Yes, Sony's current flagship phone has a bare microUSB port, the same feature that Sony's Xperia tablets have had for a little while. Users will have to make sure to let the port dry completely before submerging it again in the water.

Since it is powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 that Xperia Z4 and Z3+ have on board, should device users also worry about overheating issue? Sony had acknowledged recently that the Xperia Z4 and Z3+ had been manifesting overheating issues, and assured users a software update this summer to fix the problem.

Meanwhile, Sony advised device users that are experiencing overheating issues to turn off the handset and restart it after recording video in HD, playing games, and watching shows on NetFlix. Device users with serious overheating issues, or those that experience the problem for no apparent reason, are suggested to go to nearest Sony Center.

Other notable features of Xperia Z4v include the revamped camera features, with ISO rate of up to 12, 800 for capturing low-lit photos. It also packs imaging software that corrects that "selfie distorted" problem, alongside with a 5MP sensor and a wide-angle 25mm lens. The Z4v is capable of playing high-res video too, as well as capturing 4k video. Compared to Xperia Z4 and Z3+ it's easy to tell which among the three Sony flagship phones is technically superior.
