Until Dawn Features Butterfly Effect Scheme and Uses Killzone Shadow Fall Engine in E3 Demo; Supermassive Games PS4 Exclusive Title Releases August 25

By

Until Dawn shows how much of a unique horror survival game it is through the demo fans got to experience during the Electronic Entertainment Expo. The Supermassive Games title is driven by choice so the player dictates what will happen to the characters, ultimately leading to survival or death. This PS4 game will be a marvellous choice for players who want a good combination of strategy as well as storytelling. A trailer filled with suspense was also recently revealed, which definitely revs up more excitement among fans.

Until Dawn offers a very realistic feel in terms of gameplay while it functions through one of the Killzone: Shadow Fall technology versions. As the demo was reviewed in Siliconera, it was noted that a distinguishing factor of the title would have to be the "Butterfly Effect" scheme.

To give a clearer picture of how this works, the story starts when a group of friends planned to stay in a log cabin for a few nights. This was to pay tribute to their two friends, who happened to be sisters - Beth and Hannah Washington. Both of them went missing and the cabin was the last place where they were seen. The thrill comes in to play when the group finds out that a mysterious killer is haunting them.

The Butterfly Effect stems from choices the player would have to make when it comes to how the characters would progress in the story. A particular move would lead to a different outcome, consequently.

In one scene, Emily and Matt were headed for a radio tower to seek help when their friend gets killed. On their way, a herd of elk move towards them and the player will choose whether to stay calm and motion through the herd or be more aggressive and fight them. The former would allow both to continue, while the latter will lead to Matt's demise.

Another report shares the Until Dawn trailer, where favorite horror scenes have been depicted, such as those with strange sounds, and a character uttering, "There's something behind you!" This ignites the taste for gamers who, not content with watching such films, want to involve themselves in similar situations.

The expected release date of Until Dawn would be on August 25. The Supermassive Games horror survival title will be an exclusive for Sony's PlayStation 4.
