Top Gear has a new host and it is no other than Chris Evans. Chris Evans, 49 is known for being the one show and the Breakfast Club's host and also a good friend of the show's former presenter Jeremy Clarkson.
Chris Evans had recently signed a three-year deal with the BBC Two show. Evans who is known for being friends Jeremy Clarkson had previously denied any intention of replacing his friend but it looks something had changed since he recently expressed that he was" thrilled" to become a new host of his "favorite program of all time".
Although Evans is known for being a car enthusiast and one of UK's greatest television and radio broadcasters, a lot of people still doubts his capacity to run the show. Jeremy Clarkson has handled the show, since 2002; in fact he was one of the reason why the show get to where it is now.
Jeremy Clarkson was suspended and eventually fired from the job after a hitting and cursing incident happened between him and a producer of the show in a hotel at Yorkshire. According to the witnesses, Clarkson, who came from a club with his other two co-hosts started to yell, insult and punch Oisin Tymon, a member of his production team.
Although the victim insisted on not charging Clarkson, BBC opted to suspend Clarkson and was eventually fired from the job after the investigation. Recently it has been reported that last few episode wherein Clarkson was still the host will be aired later on as part of the compilation.
According to reports, Top Gear, is one of BBC's biggest shows being watched by 350 million viewers internationally and being open to international franchise, the show has an overseas worth of an estimated £50m a year.
Although he is now the Top Gear's newest host Evans assured his fans that he won't be leaving the R2 Breakfast show saying, "I promise I will do everything I possibly can to respect what has gone on before and take the show forward."
