‘The X-Files’ Revival: An ‘intense’ season premiere awaits fans says Gillian Anderson; Joel McHale dishes on his character

Ever since the announcement of "The X-Files Revival," fans of Fox's popular sci-fi series have been yearning for any clue about the miniseries. Then suddenly, Gillian Anderson just gave a hint of what is to come when the series premieres next year. 'Intense' was one of the word she used to describe the show while Joel McHale describes his part in the show.

"Intense, slow, and functional" are the three words that Gillian Anderson picked to describe the season premiere of "The X-Files" revival. Anderson, who plays the Dana Scully, feels strange about coming back and reviving her character that has long been put to sleep, reports TVLine.

"I can't remember what year the movie was, but it felt like [Scully] was further away from me than I'd thought she would be," said Anderson. "But I've also worked really hard at putting her entirely to sleep, so that was successful; she's just taken longer to wake up."

Unlike her co-star David Duchovny, who cried when he read the script, the "Hannibal" actress revealed that it did not hit her right away when she read it, wrote Wall Street Journal.

"It was more to do with my needing to compartmentalize and not really address the fact that it was all about to happen until I actually got up here because there were too many other things I have to think about," the actress explained.

Meanwhile, Joel McHale, who will guest star on the miniseries as the anchor of an Internet news network and becomes Fox Mulder's ally, expressed his excitement for being part of the show. Until now, the "Community" star cannot believe that he is attached to the franchise that he's been a huge fan of, reports Huffington Post.

It has been a long time since Mulder and Scully try to solve mysterious cases. We previously reported that despite the modern cases that they will handle, Fox's miniseries could dig into the vault of unsolved mysteries from the past and finish them once and for all.

"The X-Files" revival will be intense as hinted by Gillian Anderson, who will once again play the part of Dana Scully opposite David Duchovny's Fox Mulder. Joel McHale also got enlisted to be part of Fox's miniseries set to premiere on January 24, 2016.
