Call of Duty: Black Ops III post-E3; Microsoft comments on exclusivity deal between Sony and Activision.

This year's E3 has been a whirlwind of big reveals across all gaming platforms that have been surprising and exciting for gaming enthusiasts the world over. One of the biggest and most likely expected news from E3 2015 was the new Activision exclusivity deal with Sony for the upcoming first person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

Sony's press conference at E3 this year announced that PS4 will be the "new home" for Call of Duty, starting with the high octane first person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Activision's exclusivity deal with Sony for Black Ops III is revealed to have similar guidelines with that of the publisher's now-expired exclusivity deal with Microsoft for the Xbox console systems. Sony will have a 30 day guaranteed exclusivity deal for Playstation 4 systems following downloadable content releases before being made available for other gaming consoles.

Microsoft has taken to comment on the new Activision deal with Sony for the new installment to the Call of Duty video game series. In a video interview with Polygon, Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg reacts to the news. Microsoft was "expecting the announcement" from Sony, according to Greenberg, and have maintained a good relationship with Activision despite the fact that Microsoft's exclusivity deal for the Xbox gaming consoles for Call of Duty has officially ended.

"If you're a shooter fan and want to play Halo and Call of Duty there's only one box to do it on," Greenberg states confidently. He continues to state that Microsoft believes that they will continue to derive sales of Call of Duty for the Xbox gaming console based on the number of pre-orders for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Greenberg further states that they will continue to support Call of Duty and Activision as before, as much as any other third party published titles.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III is scheduled to be released for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on November 16, 2015. Pre-orders will gain beta access for PS4, Xbox One and PC systems.
