The Last Guardian is back, now on PlayStation 4 after years of undergoing development. Creative director, Fumito Ueda was reportedly worried that people would not remember the game. The Last Guardian comes to PS4 on 2016.
During the E3 2015 Conference, Sony announces the long in-development game, The Last Guardian for the PS4. Fumito Ueda, game director for the Last Guardian was worried that people have already forgotten the game, thankfully they have not. Since 2009, this is the first time fans have heard news on the game's development according to Bleeding Cool.
Ueda shares, "Yes, it's been a few years since our last announcement. From my point of view, it was very unpredictable how the audience would react. I wasn't sure if people would remember the title". The director then went on, "admittedly, I was a bit nervous".
However, when the Last Guardian for PS4 was announced Ueda's anxiety was momentary as he saw the reaction from the audience. "After the announce I saw the reaction, and the cheering-and that proved to me that people had really been waiting and were excited to see us reveal The Last Guardian for PS4," the director shared
The Last Guardian for PS4 is a joint development between Sony Japan and Gen Design, newly formed from Ueda's old Team Ico group. The Guardian reports that Sony Computer Entertainment chief Shuhei Yoshida will make sure that the Last Guardian will be finished for release on 2016.
Team ICO is behind famous games such as Shadow of Colossus, which have taken gamers to unique adventures, and themes of loss, sorrow and the importance of friendship left them in ineffable wonder. Overmental cited that the team under the creative genius of Fumito Ueda takes on another challenge-to overcome technical hurdles and deliver the Last Guardian next year.
The Last Guardian game content is the same six years ago, the changes are more on the technical side. "The game itself-the storyline etc.-that stuff has not changed," Ueda said. He went on, "We have a very specific art style we are aiming for and the PS4 hardware has helped us achieve our goals".
