Halo 3 ODST Out In The Market: Free For Eligible Players, Includes An Open World Game Feature

As a free update and a part of the Master Chief Collection, Halo 3: ODST acted as an apologetic bonus for fans' disappointment and issues regarding last year's launch of the game series. Such update, however, shall only be free for those who gained access from November 11 to December 19, 2014.

Nevertheless, Halo 3: ODST Campaign as addition to the Master Chief Collection would be available in the Xbox Store at a price of $4.99, playable in Xbox One as reported by Youth Health Mag. The update comes along with "Relic", a multiplayer map from Halo 2 as complement. Aside from the installation issue with which fans have reported being stuck at 99% download, some have also been complaining that Bungie's "Destiny" was removed by 343 Industries.

Compared to the other action-packed games of the Master Chief Collection, Halo 3: ODST has been regarded as "soft and slow", rather than fast and loud, as the odds are balanced out; the player not being a biologically and mechanically enhanced super soldier according to IGN. With this game, players may now experience being an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper as the game runs at 1920x1080 resolution at 60 frames per second. The story takes place in the aftermath of the Battle of Mombasa. The setting of the game mostly takes at night time while the Rookie (the player) investigate during daytime as complementary playable missions. Halo 3: ODST offers a conducive narrative pace in the gameplay, which is very new compared to other Halo games; one is free to travel and explore New Mombasa which creates opportunities to discover game secrets such as supply caches and an interesting Sadie's Story. Almost the whole game is played by the Rookie alone which builds up the thrill. This challenge supplements the fact that the Rookie is normal and lacks superhuman powers.

According to Film Games Etc, despite the disappointments brought by unstable multiplayer gameplays, Halo 3: ODST managed to remedy such shortcomings and eventually saved the day. As the player no longer plays as the Master Chief, new gaming experience arise as the silent and humble Rookie takes place who must find the remaining members of his team. Conversations seem immersing along the impression that the player has been working for the UNSC for quite some time. Some players comment that as a player "...come[s] across objects that your crew once had it will bring you back in time and show you their point of view". A gameplay feature which pretty stands out prominently is its being an "open world" which enables a player to wander a ruined city with grazing enemies within the map. Going through the environment provides a sense of freedom and control in the gaming experience.

According to fans, Halo 3: ODST had been a sincere apology from the 343 Industries, and, coming from the developers themselves, had been their way of giving thanks to those who remained loyal to the game franchise amidst multiplayer issues.
