When ask what will happen to character in the fifth season of Scandal, all Morton said was, "I haven't the faintest idea. I mean, we don't know." But he did add that with a character like Rowan Pope, people should expect the unexpected from him. Does this mean he finds a way to escape from prison?
"Shonda doesn't let us know until we actually sit down at a table read. So, we really don't know. There's no kind of, "here's what we're going to be doing next season" kind of thing," Morton further explained his cluelessness.
On the surface, it looks like given who Rowan / Eli is, to be in jail for extortion or for embezzlement seems like something that might be easy for him to get out of, but we'll see. Who knows what will come out of the mind of Shonda Rhimes."
Nothing has been released or announced officially for the details of the plot of Scandal Seaon 5 but it is reported that season 5 might continue from the last episode of Scandal Season 4. So most probably Rowan Pope will still be a big part of Scandal Season 5.
Since the ending of season 4 was pretty heavy, it is safe to assume that the premiere of Scandal Season 5 will be heavy as well. ABC's Scandal Season 5 will premiere on September 24, 2015.
