Kingdom Hearts 3: New Worlds and Features Revealed, Leaves Fans Hanging for Release Date

By

After its amazing trailer unveiling in the recent Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) last June 15, developer Square Enix revealed the exciting new features of the all new Kingdom Hearts 3.

The trailer revealed that a new world featuring the Disney Princess film, Tangled, would be included in the list. However, it is just one of the several new worlds that will be featured in the Disney-themed video game. Game Director Tetsuya Nomura said in an interview with Dengeki PlayStation Magazine that aside from Olympus which is based on the Disney film Hercules and was featured in the previous games, all worlds in Kingdom Hearts 3 would be new.

Other speculations reveal that themes featuring Frozen and Pixar's Inside Out may be featured. Nomura also stated that a release date was finalized but is yet to be announced. Fans are hoping that the release date will be announced in the upcoming D23 Expo in Japan on November 3, as Square Enix confirmed Kingdom Hearts 3's appearance in the said event.

According to Gamezone, since the trailer release and the interview with Nomura, fans have been excitedly speculating on what worlds would be featured in the game, as Nomura even stated that the new worlds will be "far bigger than previous Kingdom Hearts titles", and said that the trailer that the fans saw in E3 will be as "seamless" as the real game.

The interview with director Nomura also revealed some changes in the gameplay, reports Christian Today, such as deck commands like "Birth by Sleep" will be pretty much replaced by classic commands such as "Attack" and "Magic", for example. The character of Sora is also improved as he can now jump beyond the ordinary and can run into walls. On the other hand, updates in the storyline include the ending of Xehanort's plot, but the game itself does not end and would still continue with Xehanort's Chapter closed.

Kingdom Hearts 3 by Square Enix will be playable on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A release date is already finalized but not announced, for which fans hope that such will be revealed in the upcoming D23 Expo in Japan on November 3, 2015.
