Bandai Namco is to reveal lots of important details regarding Tekken 7, the latest instalment of the Tekken fighting game series. Such news will be unveiled in the upcoming Evolution Championship Series 2015 this coming July 17 to 19 in Las Vegas.
Such revelations may include the kind of controller that players may use. According to Christian Today, Mad Catz community recently posted online: "Just a heads up for Tekken pad players at EVO 2015. DS3 & DS2 with converters will NOT work with Tekken 7. You'll need a DS4." In the EVO 2015, Tekken 7 competition shall debut in North America as it is only exclusive for Japan at present.
It made its debut in the Southeast Asia as well during the recently held SEAM 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand. Reports also reveal that a previous character might be returning in the latest Tekken franchise. The speculation spread out after game creator Katsuhiro Harada revealed last year that Jin's mother, Jun Kazama, is still alive after a battle in Tekken 3.
The cinematic trailer showed a seemingly final confrontation between the father and son, Heihachi Mishima and Kazuya Mishima, reports Gamespot. It was shown that both are determined to finish each other and as they clash with rage, a flashback montage was shown, introducing the additional character, Kazumi Mishima, who while meditating utters the words: "It is up to me, to stop Heihachi, even if this power consumes me, and kills me in the process".
With the unveiling of its trailer, Bandai Namco revealed a completely new fighter to be played, states IGN. The character's name is Kazumi Mishima who is Heihachi Mishima's wife and Kazuya Mishima's mother. Her attacks involve tiger summoning and is one of the game's boss characters with the ability to transform herself into a demon, just like Jin and Kazuya in the previous games. Kazumi Mishima, together with Jack 7 and Yoshimitzu, are regarded as the players with the most interesting character reveals in the upcoming Tekken 7.
Other new characters include an Arabian named Shaheen, a "sassy mouthed" Savate fighter Katarina, a kitten-suited bubbly breakdancer Lucky Chloe, and a male character named Claudio. The regulars; Kazuya Mishima, Heihachi Mishima, Lars, Asuka Kazuya, Lili, Alisa, Paul Phoenix, Marshall Law, Lin Xiaoyu, King, Sergei Dragunov, Bryan Furry, Leo, Feng, Steve, and Hwoarang complete the roster of playable characters.
Bandai Namco's Tekken 7, powered by Unreal Engine 4, was released in Japanese arcades last February 18. The fan favourite fighting game series will be released this coming August and will be playable on PS 4, Xbox One, and PC.
