Pokémon Z Release Set in 2016 for Franchise’s 20th Anniversary; Nintendo Reveals Super Mystery Dungeon Gameplay with Holiday 2015 Launch

By

Pokemon Z will be the sequel of Pokémon X and Y. However, Nintendo has remained silent about this title, even during the Electronic Entertainment Expo, despite the expectations of fans that a big reveal is in order. The game, which will feature Zygarde, still has a lot of updates to be anticipated. Meanwhile, the publisher is not going idle as a title is already set for release this year which will actually feature all the 720 Pokémons.

The game that Nintendo is working on to launch later this 2015 is actually Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, and not the Pokemon Z. As mentioned in a recent report, a gameplay trailer, which is already in English, shed light on what the player would end up doing. Interestingly, users will find themselves being turned in a Pokemon.

This transformation is decided based on initial questions answered at the beginning. Once turned into the respective Pokemon, a partner will be gained, which could be anything from the 720 creatures in the franchise. Evidently, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon will be the first game to do this for the popular series. Coming from the trailer would be the main issue. Basically, someone is transforming Pokemon into stone, and even the Legendary ones are affected.

The Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales of Nintendo of America elaborated on the game, plus the obvious silence the team had, through an interview on iDigitalTimes.

He said, "We have a Pokemon title this year. We have Super Mystery Dungeon, which is the only game that has all 720 Pokemon, so that's exciting for Pokemon fans and hopefully that will whet their appetite."

Pokemon Z is still in its infancy, with just mostly speculations on what the game will be about. Fans may be able to hear more about this title once Nintendo is able to release the Super Mystery Dungeon English version in Holiday 2015, as the one for Japan is launching on September 17.
