Production for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair has taken progress as the script for the movie had been finished. Major recasting might be needed as the movie will be set several decades after the events from The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
Screenwriter David Magee tweeted in his private account that he had already finished the final draft for the fourth installment of the franchise. "Completed the final draft of The Silver Chair today. I've had the immense pleasure to work on the project for over a year now. So fulfilling," he wrote.
Although small as it may seem, it is still considered an important progress for Narnia fans who have been waiting for years for another sequel since The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader in 2010.
The Pevensie children from the previous instalments will reportedly be out of the picture as it will now be their cousin Eustace Scrubb and his friend Jill Pole's turn to get into some exploration in Narnia. The movie will be set decades after the events from 'The Voyage of the Dawn Treader', and King Caspian can be seen much older now. He calls Aslan for a mission to find his son Rillian, who is the heir to the throne. Aslan now calls for Eustace and his friend Jill to find the lost prince.
Recasting might be needed for the upcoming film, as Ben Barnes, who played the role of King Caspian in the previous films can no longer come back to reprise their role as the new King Caspian will now be much older.
Some speculate that Will Poulter who previously played the role of Eustace Scrubb might come back, although others also say that it might not be the case since Poulter has grown older now, and the movie will be set only a year later in London, from the time in the previous film.
The only member in the cast who might not be recasted is Liam Neeson who had voiced Aslan in the previous films. No official release date has been announced yet, although IMDB listed The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair's release date as 2016.
