iOS 9 open beta features multitasking on iPad Air 2 lets the user open two apps at a time. The new multitasking capabilities including picture in picture with videos gliding on top of another application and slide over application sidebar, one next to the other split view are exclusive to latest iPad models.
The open beta features of iOS 9 can work with iPad Air, Air 2, mini 2 and mini 3. On the open beta stage, all the multitasking components are still subjected to change in order for developers to gauge which will be included in the final release on an unpredicted date.
The slide over application sidebar permits one to open a second app into the sidebar that works intelligently whether the device is placed horizontally or vertically, according to Benchmark Reporter. The second app would occupy a third of the screen. One can change app by slide over from top to bottom.
You can slide over built-in apps including Safari, Mail, Maps, Notes, and Messages, Mac World reports.
Split View works exclusively on iPad Air 2 and lets the user use two apps side-by-side at the same time, Ars Technica reports. It comes very handy when you need to read an email and take down notes at the same time or while researching on a webpage and writing a report.
The split-screen feature comes as the most important multitasking aspect of iOS 9 as the user can save time by opening two apps or doing different activities on iPad Air 2.
Picture in picture with videos gliding on top of another application makes use of videos in FaceTime conversations, Videos app, and iTunes movies or TV shows that you downloaded. Users can watch a video floating on the screen, and be able to move it to various corners of the device. With video playing on screen, you can minimize it without the need to pause it.
