Tech Giants Apple and Google Continue To Battle in the Market

Apple and Google competition is getting stiffer and stiffer. The two tech giants are competing with each other in the world of computer, and now in the mobile industry.

Google represents Android market, while Apple represents iOS. It is apparent that the two companies have been major rivals in the technology market for a couple of years.

Their rivalry comes unexpected. In 2007, when Apple released iPhones, Steve Jobs in fact never thought that Google's Android would become its direct rival in the future.

Earlier Google has supported Apple as they were partners in the business. However after some years, Steve Jobs allegedly became mad with Google Android after realizing that the latter have "cloned" iPhone, according to INC.

"I will spend every penny of Apple's $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong. I'm going to destroy Android, because it's a stolen product. I'm willing to go thermonuclear war on this," wrote Walter Isaacson on Steve Jobs biography.

After some years, Apple and Google competition becomes inevitable. Today, Android is known as the most used smartphone platform in the world. As of 2014, it contributes to 81.5 percent (smartphone) market share compared to Apple's iOS that is credited for 14.8, as reported by Diffen.

A lot of people patronize Android phones due to its customizable property. Almost anything can be changed compared with iOS. When it comes to media transfer of photos, videos and songs, it is easier to use Android phones than with Apple phones.

Android operating system is available on range of devices- LG, HTC, Motorola, Samsung, Sony, Nexus, Kindle Fire (modified android), and others. Apple iOS is available only on iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation).

With constant battle of Apple and Google, there's only one benefit that could be learned. The competition brings a lot of benefits for the people according to Eric Schmidt, Google executive chairman said during his Bloomberg 2014 interview. He adds the battle defines the "fight" of the computer industry today.
