‘The Following’ Season 4 renewal still possible? Actor Shawn Ashmore reveals Netflix’s pickup was a hoax

While many fans are still hoping for 'The Following' season 4 renewal on Netflix, actor Shawn Ashmore who played Agent Mike Weston has previously confirmed that the picking up rumors are not true. Perhaps, Season 3 is the last of the series. And fans should start moving on.

After FOX dropped the show for lots of stated reasons, it was reported that Warner Bros. Television is still looking for a new home for the series so that the fourth season will continue to air. But Hulu declined the offer.

After that, many reports followed up that the company is courting the internet giant, Netflix. But as of today, no words from Netflix have been released. But, the streaming service's mum is not surprising for actor Shawn Ashmore.

In his Twitter account, Ashmore already clarified these rumors. Actor has answered the question from fan if it's true that Netflix will pick up 'The Following' Season 4. And, it was a 'No!'

In a forum found on Reddit, many viewers are also doubtful for the show's potential to be renewed anywhere. As per story, it is said that Season 3 didn't live up to fans expectations. That was why; the following seasons after the 1st season received some low ratings. And even there were still cliffhangers left, FOX has nothing to do but cancel the show.

Previously, the American thriller drama T.V. series' cast members already said farewell to the fans so the fate of the show remains unknown. Kevin Bacon, the actor who plays the role of the show's main character, former FBI Agent Ryan Hardy, took to Twitter to say goodbye and thank the loyal fans of 'The Following'.
