HTC One M8 Android M Update has already been confirmed. The speculation on whether HTC One M8 will be one of the devices, which will be receiving Android M update, has finally ended. Vice President for Product Management Mo Versi recently confirmed that HTC One M8 will be receiving Android M update.
The answer was unexpected to appear in a user conversation with Versi on Twitter. Versi didn't elaborate much information when it will be released on the device. When asked if Android M Update will be updated on all HTC One M8 variants, the Vice President for Product Management has no reply yet, Android Police reports.
"Hi! congratulations for making high quality smartphones! Will my HTC One M8 receive Android M update? Longtime HTC user!" according to Pierrette Rubenson inquiry on Twitter.
"@sonsonnetwork @HTCUSA Thanks Pierrette! Appreciate your support. Yes, the M8 will receive the M OS update," says Mo Versi in response to the HTC One M8 user on Twitter.
Although the company stated of a 90-day policy on releasing updates, it seems they are not yet ready in fulfilling their commitments especially that they are facing carrier blocks around Europe and the United States.
Earlier in May, Google confirmed that Android M Update will be available to set of devices including Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, HTC M9, Nexus 5, Nexus 6, and Sony Xperia Z4 to name a few. However, Jeff Gordon, Senior Global Online Communications Manager at HTC confirmed Android M Update to HTC One M9 and the One M9+, according to Tech Times.
Google is still conducting testing for Android M under developer preview for developers and users, according to ITProPortal. Release date for the software is not yet confirmed. But there are rumors that it may be out by October.
Android M update is expected to carry features including app drawer and rotating home screen. Google is also looking in the possibility of standardizing fingerprint scanners so users can unlock their device through fingerprint. Finger scanner is also seen to make it possible for users to make purchases in real-life and in the Play Store.
HTC One M8 Android M Update is also expected to bring new function called Doze and a program that lessens background processes when the device is not being used called motion detectors. As usual, Nexus devices are always the first ones to get the latest updates.
