'23 Jump Street', the upcoming follow-up for 'Jump Street' film franchise may lose its two directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller in favor of a new Han Solo Film. Meanwhile, two more talents recently joined the existing team of writers for the rumored all-female 'Jump Street' spin-off.

According to IGN, Lord and Miller may be putting off the third 'Jump Street' movie as well as other directorial projects to tackle a planned Han Solo film from the 'Star Wars' franchise.

In an earlier article by The Hollywood Reporter, sources said that the director duo will be working on the 'Star Wars' spin-off project focusing on a young Han Solo. They became valued talents after their string of successful projects including the famous animated films 'Lego Movie' and 'Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs'.

Disney and Lucasfilm have yet to confirm the announcement, however. With regards to '23 Jump Street', even if Lord and Miller would not be directing the film, they could still stay on the team as writers or producers.

Meanwhile, a 'Jump Street' spin-off featuring an all-female is cast is reported to be in the works and will be developed in tandem with '23 Jump Street'. According to ComingSoon.net, two female writers, Lizzie and Wendy Molyneux, became the latest to join the film's writing team. There is still no confirmation on the spin-off's actual plot, but there have been speculations that it will highlight the stories of undercover officers Fugazy and Jr.

The first two movies proved to be blockbuster hits - '21 Jump Street' raked in $201 million against a $42 million budget while '22 Jump Street' got $331 million against a $65 million budget, according to Box Office Mojo. The films were also recipients of generally positive reviews, which is most probably what made making a third film inevitable.

'23 Jump Street' is said to be released sometime in 2016. Although a specific date has not been announced yet, actors Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill may be reprising their roles as Greg Jenko and Morton Schmidt respectively.
