2015 Nexus 5 launch is coming up in a matter of months and yet Google remains stingy with the details leaving a bunch of reports still unconfirmed. With the available specification leaks and price details however fans should be shrieking with excitement to know that Google's manufacturing partner LG and Huawei are doing well so far.
Google's second generation Nexus 5 is expected to exceed the Nexus 6 as LG and Huawei have initially been acclaimed for "superior" features compared to devices of its kind.
Some reports pointed the 2015 nexus 5's release date could fall in September or October as per Google's tradition of releasing its Nexus devices.
Jamal Eason, Android product manager, also hinted that the new device might be launched by fall possibly joining its future mobile operating system Android M to replace Lollipop.
In a report from a tech site, two manufacturing partners of Google-LG and Huawei-will showcase a 5.2-inch screen display with 1440 x 2560 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. On top of that, Android M is also expected to run first the device's system. LG's version is codenamed Bullhead while Huawei's version is dubbed "Angler."
Further details have not been made available so far but more reports tell the 2015 Nexus 5 will wear a 3 GB RAM, a 13 MP rear camera, a 2 MP front shooter, and a 3,000 mAh battery.
To get a forecast of what is to come for the 2015 Nexus 5 device, some experts weigh down Nexus 6 features to give a picture of the second generation Nexus 5 which is expected to be better than the latter.
Nexus 6 wears a 5.9-inch AMOLED screen with 1440 x 2560 pixels and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805. It runs on an Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. It has a 3 GB RAM, 13 MP rear camera and 2 MP front shooter, and a non-removable 3,220 mAh battery.
Nexus 6 costs US$699 for the 64 GB variant while US$649 for the 32 GB variant. Motorola's 2013 Nexus 5 costs US$400 for the 32 GB variant while US$350 for the 16 GB variant.
LG and Huawei's 2015 Nexus 5 is expected to cost under $500.
