‘Warcraft’ Updates: Director Duncan Jones planning a trilogy; Official trailer for release in November

By

'Warcraft' director Duncan Jones plans a trilogy for the big screen adaptation of the game franchise. The upcoming film's official trailer has been announced for release on November.

According to Den Of Geek US, Jones had been working on the much awaited epic fantasy film since 2013. He spoke of his love for Blizzard Entertainment's various video game series during an interview with reporters at the Legendary booth at the recent SDCC.

He said, "I've been playing back since Orcs and Humans, back in the real time strategy days... I actually used to play Lost Vikings, which was a game that Blizzard made even before that." He continued to talk about how he wanted to create a film that would be relatable even to non-gamers who aren't very much familiar to the alternate fantasy world, just like in Peter Jackson's execution for the 'Lord of the Rings' films.

In the same interview, Jones recently confirmed that he had plans on turning the movie into a trilogy. He began by saying that he considered directing for a possible second movie. He added, "I personally worked very closely with Chris Metzen (Blizzard's SVP of Storytelling and Franchise Development). We worked out that if we did get a chance to do three films to tell the story, this would be the first piece and we kind of have an idea of what we would do with 2 and 3. I want to be the guy to deliver that."

According to io9.com, Jones also hoped he could get another project done before the premiere of 'Warcraft' - a science-fiction film called 'Mute'. He plans to finish the in-between indie project before launching his take on the fictional world of Azeroth. Afterwards, he'd move on to the sequel.

Following the release of leaked footage from the San Diego Comic Con's exclusive screening, and the official release of the first character posters of Sir Anduin Lothar and Orc Chieftain Durotan, the official 'Warcraft' trailer will finally be coming out on November.

Screen Rant reports that Jones posted a statement on his Twitter account that said, "Blood was spilt for this... "Today has all been about SDCC. Now I want to let you know the trailer will finally release to ALL in November." Fans will finally get to experience the exciting new trailer in its finest after its leaks were pulled out from the internet one by one.

'Warcraft' is set for release on June 10, 2016 by Universal Pictures. It stars Travis Fimmel, Toby Kebell, and Paula Patton among others and centers on the epic battle between the Alliance and the Horde.
