NCIS Los Angeles Season 7 features Tony DiNozzo crossover episode; Season Premiere scheduled September 21

By

When NCIS Los Angeles Season 7 starts to air with a fall premiere on September 21, fans can expect NCIS character Tony DiNozzo in a guest starring role for at least one episode.

Michael Weatherly who plays DiNozzo in the original NCIS series is reportedly going to crossover to NCIS Los Angeles for an episode that airs in October. "I am hearing that NCIS fave Michael Weatherly's crossover, currently penciled in for October, is quite hilarious. Said simply: DiNozzo + Deeks = LOLOLOLO," writes TV Line's Matt Mitovich.

Speculations surround the DiNozzo visit to the offshoot set. Some reports point out that the "significant loss" coming up in the original NCIS current season may just mean it would be Weatherly leaving the show. Still other reports say the fact of the crossover is confirmation that Weatherly's character will still be alive by the time NCIS Los Angeles Season 7 comes around in the fall.

Two NCIS LA Season 7 stories were filmed in the spring including the one with Weatherly, reports Enstarz. However, the same report clears up the filmed episodes did not include the Season premiere episode "Active Measures."

Episode 701 that is currently in production and directed by executive producer John Peter Kousakis from a script by Scott Gemmill may possibly be the season opener. The Enstarz report reveals the episode will have Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) getting a workout at the beach in Playa Del Rey. Ruah could be seen in the rushes jogging while Olsen gets unseated from his ride as he passes by Kensi.

The CBS show's season 6 finale left some questions about Callen's (Chris o'Donnell) father and Deeks' past with the LAPD.

The NCIS LA cast returns with O'Donnell, Ruah, Olsen, and Sam (LL Cool J.).

NCIS Los Angeles Season 7 airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
