"American Crime" is set to enter its second season that will tackle societal issues once again with fresh faces. Connor Jessup and Angelique Rivera are the recent addition to the ABC crime drama.
"Falling Skies" actor Connor Jessup jumps on board the "American Crime" ship to play the role of Connor Blaine, reports Carter Matt. Series creator John Ridley revealed that Jessup's character will be caught in the middle of accusations "that roil two high schools along socio-economic lines.
Jessup, who signed a one year contract to appear in the series, is one of the newest cast members. The other one is Angelique Rivera who will play Evy Dominguez, a sole witness of a crime allegedly committed by young men. "Her testimony could determine the path that the lives of the accused young men will take for a crime they were convicted of," reports Vine Report.
According to Deadline, Ridley revealed that the second season of "American Crime" will deal with "physicality, sexuality, and societal boundaries," adopting the same urgency of their first season.
Jessup and Rivera will appear in the crime drama along with other cast members Lili Taylor, Felicity Huffman, Timothy Hutton, Elvis Nolasco, and Richard Cabral, who are all going to play new characters in the sophomore season.
Season 1 ended with a hopeful note despite the heartache, darkness and pain that surrounded the story, according to Entertainment Weekly. Cabral's Hector got a job after his speech to his employer, who asked him about his time in jail and being in a gang. The final scene signifies a possibility for Hector's life with her girlfriend and daughter to get better.
"American Crime" season 2 will take place in a different setting that will start a story of physicality, sexuality, and societal boundaries. New cast members including Connor Jessup and Angelique Rivera are set to appear in the new season, which has no premiere date at the moment.
