A remake to the 1960 movie Magnificent Seven is in the works and all seven leads have been cast. The upcoming movie is also said to feature composer James Horner's works even after his death as it has been revealed that he has been working on its score.

Antoine Fuqua is set to direct a remake to the 1960 film, The Magnificent Seven which was directed by John Sturges. The latter, was actually also a remake of a film by Akira Kurosawa, entitled Seven Samurai. Like the theme of the previous movie, the upcoming movie is said to center on seven gun men who will defend a small village who are reigned by thieves.

All seven men who will take the lead roles are said to have been casted. According to AV Club, the upcoming movie's cast includes Denzel Washington, David Kallaway, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'Onofrio as well as Luke Grimes and Wagner Moura.

Haley Bennett is also onboard for the female lead role, while Peter Saarsgaard is said to play the role of the villain. Actor Griff Furst is also on board for the movie, as reported by Hollywood Reporter.

Meanwhile, even after his demise a few weeks ago, fans will still be able to listen to composer James Horner's works as he reportedly worked on the Magnificent Seven's score secretly. According to JoBlo, Fuqua, who is one of Horner's friends, revealed that the composer worked on the score solely based on the script he gave him.

"James was a family man. He loved his children. He called me on a Saturday after he watched [Southpaw], and I said "I don't have any money," because it wasn't a big budget movie. And he said to me. "I love the movie. I love the father-daughter relationship. Don't worry about the money, I'm just going to do it." And he did it for nothing. He paid his crew out of his own pocket." Were some of the words Fuqua said to NPR as he relived his memory of his friend.

"And I just found out a few days ago - his team flew out here, to Baton Rouge, and they brought me all the music for The Magnificent Seven. He already wrote it for me based on the script. He did it all off the script because he wanted to surprise me. I thought it was a gift or something. And they all came out here and said, "Antoine, James wrote the music for Magnificent Seven already and it's just glorious." So that's my memory of James." Fuqua added. According to the report, a composer will soon be chosen to play Horner's music.

Magnificent Seven is soon to hit theaters on January 13, 2017, based on the screenplay by John Lee Hancock and Nic Pizzolatto. More details about the movie are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
