The former hosts for BBC's popular motoring program Top Gear bid the show good-bye and signed up with Amazon for a new car show. Ex-hosts of Top Gear Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May have left Top Gear season 23 and are now being replaced by three new faces namely model Jodie Kidd, TV host Guy Martin, and actor Philip Glenister.
The Hullaballo has announced that the three former hosts of BBC's Top Gear are feeling better than ever after leaving the show. The report also added how Clarkson, Hammond, and May's new hosting stint in Amazon would be a heavy investment for them.
Top Gear has since then been renewed for a new season and with plans of Top Gear season 23, it seems that the fans of this BBC motoring program can look forward to a new season with more amazing cars to feature. However, during its run with season 22, host Jeremy Clarkson was suspended due to some catering disputes which then led to the last few episodes of the season to be hosted only by his fellow hosts Hammond and May. However, the trio all together then dropped their contract with BBC and soon after signed up for a new motoring program scheduled to air next year on Amazon. It was reported by the Business Insider that Amazon had paid a stunning $250 million dollars for the rights to another car show.
Amazon's move to create a new show that features Top Gear's former hosts has gained it the upper hand when it comes to producing new and original content for online streamers of shows and programs. In addition to Top Gear's hosts, Amazon also managed to sign up Top Gear's executive producer Andy Wilman. This really came in no surprise according to Bidness Etc as it was both Clarkson and Wilman who came up with the idea of Top Gear in the first place.
Top Gear season 23 will premiere spring of next year, possibly alongside Amazon's new motoring program that features Top Gear's ex-hosts.
