Fox really had their way in twisting the emotions of "Gambit" loyalists and onlookers because a series of ins and outs with Channing Tatum, the actor has finally made the commitment to play the Cajun mutant next year. As if taking the lead role was enough, Tatum even doubled his commitment to the character by taking part as the producer of the film.
Fans of the upcoming "Gambit" film were initially set on accepting Channing Tatum to play as the lead, striking his Cajun accent and showing off his card tricks. However, the media almost went berserk when news came out that the actor will be dropping out of the role but then things turned for the opposite.
According to Cinema Blend's feature, the "Magic Mike" star finally solidified his involvement as he signs in not only for the lead role but also as the film's producer, highlighting his passion and dedication for another of Fox's Mutant-centric project.
Looking back, if Tatum really did drop out of the role, he wouldn't have had not worn the character-printed shirt during the Twentieth Century Fox panel at Comic-Con 2015, which made every fan excited. There were so much details that lead everyone to believe he would be the one for the role, especially since he's the one who has been pushing for the film's production since the beginning.
Akin to Hugh Jackman's dedication for Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds' substantial passion for Deadpool, Channing Tatum is set on embracing the character's totality, EW reports. This means that there will be more movies for him now with Fox as he plays as the eponymous card - playing, Cajun mutant.
As reported by Screen Rant, Twentieth Century Fox has finally made the arrangements to cement the upcoming production of "Gambit." They've tapped "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" helmsman Rupert Wyatt to direct, a draft script is already submitted and a supposed allocated budget of $150 million is set.
