Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have finally ended their 13 years of marriage after the "No Doubt" singer filed divorce on Monday 2 August in Los Angeles. The singer, 45, claims "irreconcilable difference" as grounds to pull the plug on their marriage.
Rossdale, 49, also filed his response on the petition and demanded joint custody for their children, The Guardian reports.
"While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment," the couple said in a statement.
"To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time."
According to multiple of reports, the singers hardly find time to be together due to their busy engagements. Last year, Rossdale knocked down breakup rumors as he called tabloids speculating on the issue "load of bulls***," E! News reports.
Back in March, Stefani expressed her love for her husband to Cosmopolitan saying how lucky she is for landing to a handsome guy such as Rossdale. She even expressed her excitement by saying although being handsome is a plus factor, there is more than the looks that made her fall in love with him.
The "Hollaback Girl" singer claimed "he makes really cute babies!" She was also gushing how proud wife she was that time claiming how they maintained their relationship for long years.
Stefani and Rossdale who said they've only collaborated on making babies, find it "awkward" working together in "The Voice USA," BBC reports. When not working on her music, the 45-year-old singer launched her own clothes line, L.A.M.B. in 2003.
The two met during Stefani's "Sixteen Stone" album tour in 1995. The tied the knot in September 2002 at a church in London's Covent Garden. They have three sons, Zuma, Kingston and Apollo.
