Fans of J.K Rowling "Harry Potter" could expect a different sequel to the franchise. Harry Potter and his son Harry Potter Jr. are characters in the new flick.
Executives of the 1980s horror film "Troll" confirmed a follow up "Troll: The Rise of Harry Potter Jr." which be a TV series and animated feature movie.
"The original Troll film has achieved cult status, and based upon its success we believed that the timing was right to produce an updated 3D animated version for a whole new generation of filmgoers," John Carl Buechler, writer-director of the original "Troll" film will be co-producing the 3D animated film with Peter Davy, according to Comic Book.
Davy shared that everything has been going well with the pre-production. Financing was in place and there's a strong international distributor.
"Troll" is about Torok, a wizard turned into a troll and wishes to return to his original life. With his wild wish to fulfill his dream, he possessed Wendy Potter who's living in San Francisco. Torok started the adventure when he used Wendy in transforming the tenants to magical creatures.
Harry Potter, Jr., the son of Potter will be the one tasked to save the planet from evil force with the help of a magical witch, Movienewsguide reports.
Ecumenicalnews.com says the plot of the story has not been revealed yet but according to the recent official update, Academy Award winner Patricia Arquette was one of the top choices to play as the voice of the witch while Baxter Bartlett is also in the talks to portray for the voice of Harry Potter, Jr.
The animated film is scheduled to be out by 2017. Apart from the film, an animated TV series will also be launched next year, according to the executives of Troll. It is produced by SC Films International.
