The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt just got a patch last month and after barely two weeks, patch 1.08 is now now live. This new patch is bringing some performance improvements, bug fixes, some issues that may have been caused patch by 1.07, unfortunately and more importantly, to pave way for the imminent release of new Game Plus DLC.
But the new patch will be frustrating for some as it will not be able to fix some issues such as players have earned achievements but didn't receive. This is revealed via Twitter when a fan asked CD Projekt Red Community Manager Marcin Momot if the broken achievements are going to be awarded retroactively in patch 1.08, where Momot politely replied, "Not for 1.08. We are looking into it but can't make any promises. Sorry."
While they are looking into the situation, a fix for that specific issue might still be possible in the coming patches, but not with 1.08. The new patch will also further enhance the movements of Geralt where he will now be able to run without being stuck which is caused system glitches.
It also fixes an issue in the quest "Something Ends, Something Begins" where Geralt at times die after travelling to Velen. Also, the chopped heads during finishers will no longer disappear. As reported by Gamepur, a specific issue that's been caused patch by 1.07 and already addressed in this new patch is detailed by the developer below:
"In patch 1.07, the level requirements for certain items were scaled up, leaving some players stuck with only unusable gear. With patch 1.08, we are introducing the Wolven Hour potion. This potion will be available in everyone's inventory once they install the patch. It will reduce level requirements on all gear for a period of one hour.
This will give players time to level up or find alternative equipment using the gear that was available to them in patch 1.05 but became unusable after patch 1.07. After one hour, the potion's effects will cease and the requirements for all gear will revert to their original, pre-potion values."
Another noteworthy for the patch 1.08 is to introduce features that paves the way for the launch of of New Game + in the future. The New Game Plus mode is one of the most requested features from The Witcher 3 fans.
