Distributors Legendary and Universal Pictures have recently released the first international poster for Guillermo del Torro's upcoming horror film "Crimson Peak". Cast member Tom Hiddleston tweeted the photo, featuring the main cast looking strikingly sinister. The upcoming film is slated to open in theaters on October 16.
Unlike the first ones which featured the cast individually, the newly released poster of the upcoming film shows the main actors of "Crimson Peak", including Mia Wasikowska ("Alice in Wonderland"), Jessica Chastain (" A Most Violent Year") and Tom Hiddleston (Marvel's "The Avengers"). The 34-year old Loki actor himself, tweeted the photo writing "Afternoon all. Here's the international poster for #CrimsonPeak. Can't wait to show it you all finally. Not long now."
"Crimson Peak" follows the story of Edith Cushing, a young aspiring author who is torn between leaving her old life behind for a mysterious outsider. Trying to run away from the ghosts of her past, she ends up in a mysterious mansion -one that is dangerous than she could ever imagine. Wasikowska plays the role of Edith the writer, opposite Hiddleston's Sir Thomas Sharpe. Chastain on the other hand, portrays Thomas' sister, Lady Lucille. Apart from the three, the horror flick will also feature "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam and indie film actor Jim Beaver ("Dark and Stormy Night").
The supernatural mystery film is directed by Guillermo del Toro, the man behind the 2004 superhero film "Hellboy"; the 2006 dark fantasy flick "Pan's Labyrinth"; and the 2013 sci-fi movie "Pacific Rim". The 50-year-old filmmaker wrote the film alongside Matthew Robins as a co-production between Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures. Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, Callum Greene and del Toro is producing the movie with Jillian Share as its executive producer.
"Crimson Peak" is expected to hit both 2D theaters and IMAX beginning October 16.
