Game of Thrones Season 6 Update: Jon Snow Is Dead but Not Gone, Arya, Bran and Lord Frey Returns, New Characters in Casting

By

Jon Snows' death ends Game of Thrones Season 5 but the clamor of Kit Harington's return in the show lingers louder and louder. Game of Thrones Season 6 is expected to give in to the clamor despite of the show's reputation of being willing to kill lead characters for its plot.

HBO and director of Season 5 Finale David Nutter, however directly confirms that Snow is deader than dead in an interview with EW as reported by Denofgeek. Watchers on the Wall, in contrary, snapped a photo of Harington (Jon Snow in GOT) in Belfast airport, the Irish City where GOT shoots. Inquisitr hypothesizes then that Jon Snow might be dead but not gone and concludes that he might be back as a White Walker.

If the audience have to wait for Season 6 to confirm Jon's death, Nutter puts an end to Stannis Baratheon in Season 5 and Stephen Dillane is indeed not returning to the show.

Meanwhile other characters are definitely coming back and are making a bigger mark in the next season. The traitor responsible for the Red Wedding, Lord Frey is surely coming back with darker plot as reported by Mirror. On the other hand, Arya Stark continues to train to be a Faceless Man with Braavos despite being blind. And finally, Bran Stark goes back in the show and is being trained by the Three-Eyed Raven, portrayed by actor Max von Sydow who was introduced in season 4.

Anticipation rises even more when HBO calls for casting for some characters that are coming out in Season 6. The list of the cast needed follows: a 50 to 60-year old father, a 40 to 50-year old priest, an early 40's leading actress, a mid 20's priestess, a 30 to 60-year old fierce warrior, a 10 to 12-year old large boy, a 12-year old boy and a 7-year old boy. Among all that HBO is looking for, the last three boys get most attention because they are rumored to bring Robert Baratheon, Ned Stark and could be Little Finger in their childhood to tell a story we never known till the 6th season.

HBO has not announced fully when Season 6 of GOT will premiere but an educated guess, based on the previous airing of GOT, could give a hint that it will premiere April 3 next year.
