Jamie Frasier and Claire Randall have a lot to go through in 'Outlander' season 2. Latest reports show that things will become more difficult for the two as they land in Paris. Both will be bounded with politics and personal issues. Meanwhile, it was also reported that the upcoming season will not have a gap during midseason.
As the show is already in production, lots of reports and speculations have been out regarding the 'Outlander' season 2. Although Starz has been keeping mum, the TV series might premiere in March 2016. The speculated premiere date is just enough because the other pirate drama series 'Black Sails' will be aired in January. According to Movie News Guide, Starz won't allow to air the same month with the 'Black Sails' and 'Power'. And there has to be a gap between them.
"You could theoretically broadcast it in two pieces because they are almost standalone sections, but right now the intention is probably to show them straight through," Ron Moore said to Zap2It.
Enstarz notes that the absence of midseason break in 'Outlander' season 2 could result to longer gap between seasons.
As per storyline, recent 'Outlander' season 2 spoilers reveal that Jamie and Claire will continue on their personal struggles.
"Claire is dealing with her pregnancy and [wondering], how do you support someone going through a trauma like [Jamie's]? How do you help him get over it, or get past it?" Caitriona Balfe explained in a recent interview with Blastr.
Additionally, the first half of 'Outlander' season 2 will be much political. As executive producer said "The first half of the book is all in Paris and it's very political and it's a lot of conspiracies and maneuvering and gossips and double-dealing...and then the book shifts and they return to Scotland and then it's a war story. It's two very distinct halves."
