The Chiefs stand victorious as the "League of Legends" Oceanic Pro League has finally come to an end. According to the Geek Snack, the Chiefs successfully defeated Legacy in a best-of-five match, with a final score of 3-1. The team managed to win the Split 2 Championship title, as well as garnered a streak of unbeaten 14-0 matches through the entire game. It was Legacy who had won last winter's match, however it was the Chiefs who bagged the finals with a huge win.
As previously reported by the VG427, the Chiefs had also managed to win the Split 1 Championship earlier this year. After their glorious win, fellow fans and gamers had anticipated the team's final win. As expected, the Chiefs confidently started the Finals with two straight wins. Legacy stepped up their game and won the third match, but unfortunately it was not enough to beat the Chiefs, who took the final game.
Aside from watching the main event, attendees also enjoyed several festivities around Luna Park. Riot, Games, the developer of "League of Legends," arranged Cosplay competitions, workshops and signing sessions with the pro players. Huge screens were set up around the venue for fans to watch the live stream action as well as enjoy free access to the park's rides and attractions. Gamers, professional and amateur alike, were all welcomed to join the eSports tournaments.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs are now advancing for a shot at the world finals. Winning the Oceanic Pro League does not only grant the Chiefs $16,000 cash prize, the Sydney Morning Herald reported. They also get to represent the entire Oceanic region in Istanbul for the International Wildcard Qualifier to compete against the Japanese, Turkish, and South-East Asian champions.
