Fallout Shelter Android Officially Hits Google Play Store Aug 13; Bethesda Adds New Enemies, Mr. Handy and MORE Content Support Coming

The Fallout spinoff mobile game, Fallout Shelter, marks a new remarkable milestone for the critically acclaimed game developer Bethesda Softworks as it officially releases on Android and hits Google Play Store tomorrow, August 13.

On its Twitter account, Bethesda has officially announced the debut of Fallout Shelter on Android finally happening, where this new mobile game app hits Google Play Store on August 13.

Fallout Shelter takes place in a post-nuclear wasteland where gamers control a technologically advanced underground vault in order to create the perfect vault with the use of wide array of tools to choose. Their role is to look after a horde of vault dwellers and keep them safe from harm of the wasteland.

Tech Times reports that Bethesda that the new mobile game will be adding the following features to both iOS and Android versions on the day that Fallout Shelter is up on Google Play Store on Aug. 13:

New Enemies

Other than raiders and RadRoaches, new enemies such as mole rats will now be included to infest vaults while the Deathclaws will attempt to invade the shelters.

Mr. Handy

A robot known as Mr. Handy will also be added in the game and gather resources for the vault as well as help to explore the wasteland, nevertheless, drive enemies away.

Fans are also assured to receive more exciting contents coming on top of the above items. Game Director of Bethesda Softworks Todd Howard confirmed back at QuakeCon that plethora of add-ons are under way saying, "We are going to support Fallout Shelter for a long time.This is something we did on the side and we were blown away by the response."

Preceding the launch of Bethesda's mobile game on the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch last June, Fallout Shelter has become the number 1 downloaded app in 25 countries. According to sales tracking org SuperData, the game offering in-app purchases has been ranked one of the highest grossing apps with a whopping $5.1m (£3.3m) just in the first two weeks of release,

Bethesda Softworks has designed Fallout Shelter as a marketing strategy for the upcoming main title to the sci-fi role playing game Fallout series, Fallout 4, set to take the world by storm this November.

With the official release of Fallout Shelter on Android tomorrow August 13, Bethesda Softworks aims to gain Android's 78 percent share of the smartphone market.
