Wonder Woman to fight against Doomsday in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? VFX supervisor hired for standalone film

By

A new member for the team of the upcoming Wonder Woman has been added in the person of VFX Supervisor, Bill Westenhofer. But before she stars in her stand alone film, Wonder Woman is set to fight a big battle in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

As reported by Screen Rant, Visual Effects Supervisor Bill Westenhofer is officially on board for the film, and his previous works might provide hints as to what to expect in the upcoming Wonder Woman. Reports suggest that the upcoming film might feature mythical creatures given the fact that Diana Prince was originally from Themyscira, the home of Amazons.

Aside from the Amazons, mythical creatures like centaurs, Pegasi, and griffons also reside in the said island. Westenhofer's works in movies like Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters and Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, have proven his ability of bringing these animals and monsters to life, and thus he might work his magic again in the upcoming film.

However, before Wonder Woman steps on her solo film, she is set to contribute to the action in the upcoming film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The badass heroine can be seen in the film's trailer suiting up an armor, and drawing a sword.

According to iDigital Times, rumors have surfaced that Wonder Woman, along with the other heroes in the DC Extended Universe might come face to face with the monster, Doomsday. Originally reported by Heroic Hollywood, Wonder Woman will reportedly be seen cutting Doomsday's arm in the upcoming movie, however, things does not end there as a blade then grows on the area where the monster's arm used to be.

Although it was not revealed how this battle with Doomsday ends, another report from Screen Rant suggest that the rumored entry of the monster might be a good plot development for the film. In the trailer, General Zod's corpse was seen in Lex Luthor's hands, and speculations surfaced that Luthor might have took Zod's DNA to create a monster that will kill Superman.

These rumors remain unconfirmed until now, and therefore must be treated with a grain of salt. Zack Snyder is the director for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which is set to hit theaters in March 25, 2016. On the other hand, Chris Pine is set to play alongside Gadot as Steve Trevor in the upcoming Wonder Woman, which will be directed by Patty Jenkins. It is set to hit theaters in June 23, 2017.
