One of the most awaited movies in Marvel's phase 3 is the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok. While the director and writers have not been revealed yet, Kevin Feige revealed that fans can expect an announcement regarding the matter soon. Rumor mill is hard at work and suggest that a Female Thor might be introduced in the upcoming film.
As reported by Ecumenical News, the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok will play a vital role in the MCU and will pave the way for the much awaited Avengers: Age of Ultron. But unfortunately, no news have been announced yet pertaining to its director or writer.
However, according to Movie News Guide, Marvel's President Kevin Feige revealed that announcement is likely to be made "probably towards the end of the summer". Aside from that, he also teased that the writer and director might or might not be one person.
As for the film's plot, despite the lack of updates, speculations have made their rounds that Thor might pass on his powers to a female character in the franchise. According to rumors, Thor might die in the upcoming movie and so he might pass on his powers to either Dr. Jane Foster, or Lady Sif.
Rumor mill suggest that if Jane Foster becomes the Female Thor, she could either inherit Thor's powers after he dies. Another rumor suggests that he might choose on his own to give up his powers so he could pass it on to Jane.
Meanwhile, there are also rumors that says Lady Sif might become the next female Thor after Jaimie Alexander, revealed that her character will play a significant role in the upcoming film. However, it is worth noting that the news about a Female Thor have not been confirmed yet, and must be treated with a grain of salt.
Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston are also expected to reprise their roles as Thor and Loki, respectively. Thor: Ragnarok is expected to hit theaters in November 3, 2017. More details are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
