Samsung is launching S6 Edge Plus in Europe this year while the company decided to postpone the release of Note 5 until 2016. The decision is to increase the sale of Note 5. Due to this, an online petition was created hoping to change the decision of the smartphone company for earlier date of release.
Samsung unveiled both Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus recently, but the smartphone company decided to only sell Galaxy S6 Edge Plus in Europe this year, Phone Arena noted.
According to Mobile Burn, Galaxy Note 5 will be launched in Europe by 2016. The Android firm said that the decision is due to market demand. It added that the whole Europe has high demand of iPhone with 34% of users. So as a marketing strategy, Samsung seem to delay the sale of the phone for better deal in 2016.
In the related report, British retailer Clove created an online petition where people can express their disappointments. It also posts an appeal to release Galaxy Note 5 in Europe in an earlier date. The online petition is hosted by Google Forms to protect full names and email addresses of petitioners.
On the other hand, a competitor reacted on Samsung's decision. Android Authority noted LG's tweeter post conveting that the company won't do the same thing as Samsung did. The message added a promotion of LG G4 available throughout the world.
There are features present in Galaxy Note 5 that are not available in S6 Edge Plus. Mobile Burn said that Note 5 has S Pen and it is richer than S6 Edge Plus. Moreover, the phone has Android 5.1 Lollipop version, and an Exynos 7420 Octa-Core processor with a speed of 2.1 GHz. The phone's hardware is also interesting since its size is 5.7 inches and weighs 6.03 oz. its camera is consists of 16 MP Rear and 5 MP Front-Facing.
The petition is still ongoing and Samsung has nothing to say regarding the appeal so far.
