‘Pokemon The Movie XY’ Updates: Mysterious Green Pokemon plays key role in Mega Evolution IV; Leak shows Zygarde as main character in next film

'Pokemon The Movie XY' featured a mysterious green Pokemon that could play a key role in the upcoming Mega Evolution Act IV. He is rumored to be related to Zygarde who is the main character in the next film as hinted by a CoroCoro Comic leak.

According to Nintendo Insider, the Pokemon Company International revealed that the new green Pokemon that appeared at the post-credits trailer in the recent 'Pokemon The Movie XY: Hoopa and the Clash of Ages' will be involved in the final episode of the Mega Evolution anime series.

At the end of the film, the "worm-like blob" that is the unknown Pocket Monster is seen rescued from experimenting scientists. Then a resulting green explosion ensues in the surrounding area with him in it.

It remains unnamed however, it is said to play a key role in the future of the franchise. The series focuses on the Pokemon trainer Alain as he journeys across the Kalos region defeated every Mega Evolution he encounters.

In another article by the Anime News Network, the green Pokemon was seen yet again on the latest September issue of the Coro Coro Comics by Shogakukan. It was said to appear and play a central role in the Pokemon TV series in 2016. The magazine also revealed that the legendary serpent Pokemon Zygarde will be the central character in the third Pokemon XY film to be released next year and is somehow related to the green Pokemon.

It was reported that no other details were revealed in Coro Coro except for the cryptic images left to be deciphered by hard core fans, according to iDigital Times. It also showed multiple green blobs on the editorial feature that looked to be tiny versions of Zygarde.

There was also a giant silhouetted figure that was speculated to be Zygarde's mega form. It was previously reported that the first three films in the XY series features a more mature, battle-ridden storyline with tons of references and scenes to 'mega evolutions'.

'Pokemon The Movie XY' is the second film in the XY series and the 18^th installment in the franchise's theatrical releases. It premiered in Japan last July 18, 2015 and there remains to be no confirmation as of the present as to an English-dubbed release in Western territories.
