"The Incredibles 2" director Brad Bird says the upcoming sequel will be different from modern superhero movies as it is set to focus on thefamily dynamics instead of their individual superhero abilities.
The fans of the 2004 animated superhero flick have rejoiced when Disney and Pixar confirmed "The Incredibles 2" two years ago. But due to the lack of legitimate information, they have only been depending to rumors and fan theories until recently. The original film's director Brad Bird who is also attached to helm the sequel has finally spilled a few teasers to what the next installment has in store for its viewers.
In an interview with Cinema Blend, the filmmaker discussed that the movie will be different than the present-day superhero flicks. "I don't think that kind of idea stays interesting for very long. You can kind of get a cheap laugh for the moment," he explained, stressing the importance of having a timeless feels in making a feature film. "I think you want to go longer range than that."
The 57-year-old director assured the fans that "The Incredibles 2" will be an interesting and unique story that will shift its focus to how the Parr family works together. "For me, the interesting thing was never the superhero part of it. It was more the family dynamic, and how do superhero things play into that," he explained. "So the movie is a step further in that direction - but I do have a story idea that I think is very intriguing, and not like anything else."
Sadly, Bird refused to delve into the specifics. But as previously reported, the "The Incredibles" sequel might see Jack-Jack's villainous transformation as well as Syndrome's return. The studios have not also released a specific date yet for its release but guaranteed that more details will be revealed in two years' time.
